The Twiggs County Board of Commissioners (BOC) is accepting applications for an Administrative Service Clerk. The ideal candidate will perform accounts payable and accounts receivable duties on a daily basis. The Administrator Services Clerk provides office support activities for the County Administrator.
Essential Job Functions:
- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
- Pays invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining payment authorization.
- Accurately review, code, and process vendor invoices.
- Maintain a large number of vendor accounts while staying in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform data entry associated with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Review and reconcile invoice discrepancies.
- Process check requests and expense reports on a regular basis in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper supporting documents are accurate and processed with invoices.
- Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation and issuing stop payments and adjustments.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups.
- Maintains financial records by filing accounting documents.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

- Considerable knowledge of record keeping and filing techniques
- Computer skills, including the ability to operate computerized accounting, including SAGE, Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, and other software applications Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and written.
- Training and Experience
Preferred Associates Degree in accounting, business, or government administration. Two to three years of government and supervisory experience preferred. A combination of education, training, and experience that highlights the required knowledge/skills will be considered. Role may require additional training and education as a condition of continued employment
