ADA/TTY Contact Information:
- Accessible formats of Twiggs Transit materials are available upon request.
- Riders can make this request by calling (478) 945-6133 or using the Georgia Relay Service: 711.
- Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) permit persons with a hearing or speech disability to use the telephone system via a text telephone (TTY) or other device to call persons with or without such disabilities.
- To make using TRS as simple as possible, dial 711 to be automatically connected to a TRS communications assistant.
- Dialing 711 allows both voice and TTY-based TRS users to initiate a call from any telephone, anywhere in the United States, without having to remember and dial a ten-digit access number.
- Georgia Relay can be used for contacting Twiggs Transit for any purpose, including booking, eligibility, or customer comments
We strive to develop and maintain an effective and efficient public transportation service available to all citizens of Twiggs County. All trips will be scheduled on a same day call in basis depending on the availability of buses.
Our elderly or disabled passengers, passengers with doctor appointments, passengers going to and from work, and students going to or leaving school will be scheduled first. Any and all other trips will be worked around these. We ask that you respect the driver and other passengers by observing personal hygiene and not wearing excessively strong perfumes.
Seatbelts are required by state law and must be worn at all times with NO EXCEPTIONS. Parents of children required to be in a car seat are responsible for having the proper car seat for the child to be allowed to ride and securing the car seat in the van, NO EXCEPTIONS. All children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Only service animals accompanying individuals with disabilities will be allowed on the vans.
Ambulatory passengers can request and utilize the lift to enter the transit vehicles. FTA and ADA require accessibility for passengers to use the lift if they inform drivers that they have difficulty using the steps. In addition, the passengers are able to bring oxygen tanks on board vehicles as an acceptable action or priority seating in the front of vehicles for seniors or disabled.
